For this mural the 7th grade Beginning Art classes learned about migration, immigration and symbols that are used to represent them, like the butterfly. Thanks again to Ms. Taylor for leading these lessons. The students then chose images of butterflies to use for the mural and cut out stencils of them. They also came up with ideas for a phrase that we could use on the mural and decided on "Migration is Natural." They then used water based spray paints and their stencils to paint the butterflies on the wall so they look like they are flying up the staircase and painted their phrase in 4 different languages.
