First we looked at how the human body has been used in art and the symbolism for different hand symbols and body language. Then students came up with an idea for a figurative sculpture. Students worked individually or in groups to create life size sculptures using their bodies and packing tape. They wrapped their bodies in plastic wrap then added a few layers of packing tape. After carefully cutting the tape off their bodies they would tape the pieces together then they installed them throughout the school. You can see that we had a lot of fun with this project.
